Berths
The South of France is widely recognised as one of the best places in the world to keep a motorboat, because of its temperate climate, light winds and excellent anchorages. There are plenty of marinas to choose from, and most cater very well for the motorboat owner. Fuel, equipment, guardienage, maintenance, craneage, storage, parking and excellent restaurants are widely available throughout the region. Use our port guides section to find out more.
In France, berths are owned on a lease basis and are sold by the owner through professional brokers like Sunseeker France. The expiry date of the lease varies in each port, as displayed in the port guides section of this website. The length of the lease will therefore have a considerable effect on the price, but the lease can easily be sold on again if you decide to move further afield. Sunseeker France have a large selection of berths for sale in the region, and have helped thousands of owners purchase berths here.
Renting a berth is normally only available through the Capitanerie in each port, rather than through a broker. Demand in the summer season and at major events can be intense, which is why many owners tend to purchase a lease instead.
